Vol.Two No. 3

What seems to separate the amateurs from the professional in any field whittled down to one thing their approach towards their career.

The singer-songwriter/publisher. Gordon Daniels perhaps hit the nail on the head, "When I stopped think like an artist and start think like a businessman thing began to happen." Being a businessman doesn't stop him from being an artist.
Gordon, co-founder of Wolverine Songwriters Association, has just released a new gospel album and like other artist must now concentrate on the business side of the industry to make things happen.

unfortunately, success into any degree doesn't happen by magic.  Not even magic happens by magic .  It demands some sort of a plan.

The business end of the entertainment industry doesn't, in the least, negate the artist requirement. It does however, point out the necessity for peaceful co-habitation between art and business.

Though you might not have an entourage of agents, the lawyers, and accountants surrounding you yet, you can begin to think about your career as a business. You can start right now by putting together your own  Personal Entertainment Career Business Planner.

On a page two, write your own responses to the following:

Mission Statement:

What is your cheif-aim or the  purposes of your wanting a career in entertainment industry.

Your entertainment specialty:

What exactly do you do and for whom do you do it?

Key Activities:

Now, for each of the three goals you listed above make a list of ten things you will do in order to reach that goal.

Support group:

Identify who you can count on for emotional, spiritual, and financial support.

Personal Pre-Talk:

List twelve reasons why you feel you will succeed.

Mental Rehearsal:

In your mind, sees yourself achieving the success you desire. Create for yourself and ai image of what this success will look like to you.

Mastermind Group:

Using people living or dead, select five or  six people whom you would admire.  Research, See how they achievied there success they sought in their line of  work.  Use their experiences and/or problem-solving techniques to aid you with yours.

As you can see, a little preparation can go a long way to setting your stage for success.  Best of luck in your career.
